Hello! My name is Jennifer Sands, and I welcome you and thank you for visiting my website. I pray that as you explore this site, you will find hope, encouragement, and inspiration.
My husband, Jim Sands, was killed in the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. Back then, no one could have convinced me that I would recover from losing Jim, or that I'd ever be functional again. But I have since learned that God can do amazing things -- things that I never could have imagined. Before 9/11, I did not know Jesus as my Lord and Savior... but by His abounding love and grace, I have since undergone a radical spiritual transformation from tragedy to victory. I am now determined to spread the Gospel and a message of overcoming trials -- and living everyday life -- through faith and trust in Christ and in the power of His Word.
My favorite verse from Scripture is Jeremiah 29:11, which says, "For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you; plans to give you hope and a future." And indeed He had plans for me. I was (and still am) a pharmacist; but after September 11, God blessed me with a Christian writing and speaking ministry to serve Him. I am the author of two books: A Tempered Faith
, my first book, details my emotional and spiritual struggles -- and eventual triumph -- in the first year after losing Jim. In my second book, A Teachable Faith, the journey continues as I share how God uses His Word and everyday circumstances to teach us, heal us, and give us a greater understanding of Him. I am currently working on my third book, A Treasured Faith, which will complete the "ATF" trilogy.
Jesus is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Will you allow Him to help you in your struggles?
This is not only about September 11, or the loss of someone dear. This is about broken marriages... health problems... financial crisis... loss of our dreams... we all encounter burdens and trials and heartaches and challenges. Do you trust God to bring you through yours?
Perhaps I can help you (or someone you know) through God's promises in the Bible and through the testimony of my own experience. I would love to come speak for your church or at your retreat... or perhaps my books might inspire a hurting heart.
So I invite you to review my books and read sample excerpts, find out where I'll be speaking, watch a video clip of one of my programs, read some feedback from others, and find links to helpful organizations for people in crisis.
Wherever you are in your walk with the Lord, I pray that you will take the steps to get closer to Him and to spend more time in His Word. I pray that if you have not already invited Jesus into your heart and asked Him to be the Lord of your life, that you will do so today. And I pray that you will always remember: God will not permit a trial to come upon us unless He has a plan to bring a blessing out of it!
By His grace and for His glory --
Jennifer
